Week 84.... Opposition Brings Blessings!!!

Wanderleia's Baptism
This week there was a lot of opposition that happened, but we all know that "ALL GOOD THINGS COME FROM OPPOSITION"!!

I have never seen such an amazing baptism. The baptism of Wanderleia literally brought tears to my eyes. To see her Dad, who is 85 years old, do the baptism was probably the coolest thing I have seen in my mission.

For Wanderleia, it took a lot for her to make the decision to get baptized. After long, heartfelt prayers, and one last push a half hour before her baptism, she finally made the decision. Literally 30 min before her baptism she called me and said she had a terrible day. She had lost her wallet with all her money for her monthly rent. She had spent all day in Concepcion trying to get everything back. She had gone through so much opposition and she just wanted to give up and not go through with the baptism.

Elder Inman and I ran over there and helped her understand that as we overcome opposition, we receive heavenly blessings.

39And it must needs be that the devil should tempt the children of men, or they could not be agents unto themselves; for if they never should have bitter they could not know the sweet—

If we would have never gone through those hard times… if we would have never felt the heartbreak; the baptism would not have been as sweet.
This baptism was a spiritual up- lifter for me, as well as everyone involved! What a blessing!

Early morning at the beach...
