For those of you that don’t know; I
changed sectors. I have been called to serve in the sector Boca Sur. My new
comp. is Elder Woods.... so crazy because he is literally from my same city. We
graduated together. I never thought in a million years I would be with him, and
let alone kill him. He will be finishing his mission here in 6 weeks. But I
know it is going to be an awesome transfer. He is a really awesome kid and we
get a long really well.
As far as our sector, it was really crazy what
happened. There was actually a white wash in my sector. For those that don’t
know; that is when they take the 2 missionaries out and put 2 new missionaries
in that sector. Elder Woods and I are both new to that area. So when we got
there the first day, we had no clue what we were going to do. We started
calling members and tried to get out and work with them. We started working
whit the ward missionary leader and he helped us get to know the people we are
teaching. At the first of the week I felt like we were running around with our
heads cut off. But as the week went on, we kept seeing more and more miracles.
We found so many people. Boca is a really great place. It is a really poor area.
We are in the slums. There are a lot of apartments full of people who don’t
really live to the highest of standards. But as we have been teaching, we have
noticed that everyone is willing to listen to us and come closer to Christ.
This week we saw so many miracles. I will tell you about two
of them. One was super awesome. Elder Hatch, one of my buds, told me of a lady
he was teaching and so we went over there and starting teaching her. We taught
a lot of baptism and why she should do it. She was very receptive and accepted
the invitation to be baptized on the 27th of Feb. She was also able to come to Church
and she loved it. She is so excited to be baptized on the 27th, so
we are so excited for that day. I will let you know more about her as we teach
her.
Another miracle that happened is that as we were leaving with a member we were talking to her and she said she was going to bring one of her friends that isn’t a member to church and that we needed to make her feel comfortable when she was there. On Sunday she walked in with a lady in a wheel chair. I ran over there and was talking to her... she was the nicest old lady ever. She had a huge smile on her face. She stayed all 3 hours of church and loved it. After church we went over to her house to talk to her. She totally loved our message and also accepted to be baptized on the 5th of March. She was so awesome. I know that God is putting people in our path. I know that He has His hand is this work. I love my new sector and my new comp.
As for my spiritual thought, I found this scripture I love… I
will share it with you.
If thou art called to pass through tribulation; if thou art
in perils among false brethren; if thou art in perils among robbers; if thou
art in perils by land or by sea;
If thou art accused with all manner of false accusations; if
thine enemies fall upon thee; if they tear thee from the society of thy father
and mother and brethren and sisters; and if with a drawn sword thine enemies
tear thee from the bosom of thy wife, and of thine offspring, and thine
elder...
And if thou shouldst be cast into the pit , or into the
hands of murderers, and the sentence of death passed upon thee; if thou be cast
into the deep ; if the billowing surge conspire against thee; if fierce winds
become thine enemy; if the heavens gather blackness, and all the elements
combine...
8The Son of Man hath descended
below them all. Art thou greater than he?
Through trials we grow. Everything we suffer through is for our
own benefit.
